Patterns

I'm TERRIBLE about reading all of the steps in a pattern.  I just assume I know what comes next!  It is a terrible thing to do at 11:30 pm when I "only" have a couple things to finish.
This leads to a frustrated me, and lots of ripped seams.

!!Note to Jaime!!

Follow the pattern!

End note to self!

Halloween Photo Frame

{Googly Eyed} Picture Frame

This DIY is a recreation of a blog post that I made on my first blog go around.

I absolutely LOVED this frame for the whole 24 hours I got out of it before the kids decided it was hysterical to pop all of the little eyes off of it.  Time to make a new one?

This will be the shortest DIY you've eva seen!

Take these things - cost less than $4 {thank you dollar stores, and dollar sections!}

Paint the frame -
{add a ribbon if you must}

Then get that glue gun going! {Words of Wisdom - Don't burn yourself!}

Add some Halloween scrap book paper - and voila! You're done! Doesn't it look fab!

Princess Dresses!

For the hundredth time this week I've asked my girls NOT to wear their fancy princess dresses when they play outside.  It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't like to create "soup" or "pies" made from dirt, mud, grass, rocks, and whatever else they can dig up in the yard.  These things aren't meant to be worn more than a dozen times it appears, especially if you have to *gasp* wash them!  So I made some princess dresses, out of COTTON, and serged the edges so that even after the muddiest messes, I didn't have to say a special seam staying prayer over the washing machine.  Here are some of the results!

What do you do when your kids only want to wear princess dresses all day? :)

Halloween Pillow

Hi there!  I actually managed to get this pillow made just in time for my sister-in-law's birthday.  I love surprising people with things that they don't realize are homemade!

Let me just put it out there that I made this a LOT tougher on myself than I should have!  I wanted to do a zippered pillow cover with piping.  I should have gone to this lovely blog post and followed her surprisingly easy steps.  I like to live dangerously though and waste time apparently, and I attempted to use my "skills" :) to complete it myself.  Learn from me people!  So instead of walking you through my attempt, just go here : Easy DIY Pillow Cover at liagriffith.com.

I got this awesome spider burlap at JoAnn's and I can't wait to make another one.  Using an actual tutorial...

First Post

Alright, let's try this again!  I was going through the calendar on my computer and it so helpfully reminded me that it was my turn to do a craft post on the now defunct blog that I ran with my best friend in the whole world.  I had so much fun creating things for the blog but life just got in the way.
I have a pretty nasty habit of taking on way more than I can chew, and I'm hoping that this time I can make it stick!  I'll have a pillow tutorial ready for this Wednesday that's perfect for Halloween.  If I don't start now I'll never be ready!
